Russian Language

While on the ship, I took a Russian language class. The Russian alphabet has 53 letters. Some are the same as we use in English, 9 are Greek Orthodox letters and five are Hebrew! Of course, the letters may not have the same sound as they do in English. For example, capitol B sounds like "V". K sounds like our K. H sounds like N. T sounds like T. Reverse R sounds like "ya". Two things I learned are "Good morning"  Do-bray UTro and "Thank You" Spa-SEE-bo. There are many words the same in english as Russian, although they do not look the same because of the unusual letters. "bap" if you translate the letters, is bar.
